In March 2018 the minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment provided the environmental preview report (EPR) guidelines to the proponent, Great Northern Port Inc. for the preparation of an EPR.

The minister has advised the proponent that the EPR submitted for review for the Crémaillère Harbour Marine Port Development project is deficient and that a revised EPR is required to address the information deficiencies which include, but are not limited to: a more detailed description of the occurrence, distribution and status of fish and wildlife species; development of a Women’s Employment Plan; the placement and operation of port facilities.

A detailed evaluation of the requirements of the proposed project in comparison to services and infrastructure currently or potentially provided by existing ports is also required.
