Humber Valley man issued two tickets under Cannabis Control Act

PORT SAUNDERS, N.L.

Port Saunders RCMP have brought charges against a west coast man after a quantity of drugs was seized from his vehicle.

On Nov. 1, police conducted a traffic stop near Eddies Cove West on the Northern Peninsula.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from the Humber Valley area, was arrested. RCMP seized a quantity of marijuana, cocaine and LSD.

The man was issued two tickets under the Cannabis Control Act related to the quantity and accessibility of the drugs in the vehicle.

Several edged weapons and a baseball bat were also seized by the RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending.

The driver was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
