Grayson Murray was found inside a Florida residence, with no apparent foul play

Grayson Murray returned to Florida after withdrawing Friday from a challenge by Charles Schwab in Fort Worth, Texas, and was spotted at an apartment in Palm Beach Gardens around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.

Murray, 30, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the Sony Open in Hawaii earlier this year, took his own life, his parents said in a statement on Sunday. A police report said there was no apparent foul play and no other information would be released to the public.

The golfer withdrew after 16 in the second round at Colonial Country Club and told playing partner Peter Malnati that he was not feeling well.

Murray opened up about his problems with alcohol addiction earlier this year and is excited about trying to help others. He seemingly turned his life around and found success on the course after years of struggle.

Last year, Murray won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour to secure his PGA Tour card for 2024 and promptly won his first event in Honolulu, hitting a 40-footer to beat Keegan Bradley and Ben Ann.

That win was his first Masters title and earned him a spot in all of the remaining signature events for the year. He made the cut at the PGA Championship a week before his death and was exempted from the US Open in two weeks.
