St. Anthony comes out to support Grenfell Heritage Day

ST. ANTHONY, N.L. —

Held annually, Grenfell Heritage Day is the Grenfell Foundation's big fundraising event each year.
This year's event was held on July 23, once again hosted at the Polar Centre in St. Anthony.
The event started with the Teddy Bear Picnic for children in the afternoon. Various games and activities were held for the children throughout the day, while there was musical entertainment for the adults.
The Foundation fundraised by selling baked goods as well as tickets on an assortment of prizes, including crafts, Grenfell memorabilia and other items.
Coordinator Agnes Patey says the fundraising totals looked to be in line with other years, though the official tally has not been calculated yet.
"We were pleased with how well we did," she told The Northern Pen. "We want to thank everybody for showing up and supporting the Grenfell Foundation."
