Community Calendar is your new destination for community events in the Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador.
Space is free and is reserved for non-profit groups and organizations.
Please email listings to Krysta Carroll at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Listings should be typed, 50 words or less, and include the community in which your event is being held. You may also include one photo, if you wish, but it cannot be a poster. Listings will run in print as space allows, as well as and online each week. The deadline is Tuesdays the week prior to the edition of the paper in which your listing will run.

FIRST STEP CHARITY GALA
St. Anthony - First Step charity will hold its second annual Charity Gala at the Grenfell Interpretation Centre in St. Anthony. The event is First Step’s major yearly fund-raising event to advance access to health care by providing medical travel assistance to people living on the northern tip of Newfoundland’s Northern Peninsula (NTNNP), a geographically isolated part of Newfoundland Labrador. Last year’s Gala raised over $6,000. This year’s gala will include a silent auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and a chance to enjoy the Grenfell Interpretation Centre while mingling with friends and discussing ways we can help people with their medical travel expenses. Everyone is invited to come and experience the joy of helping others. Ticket information will be available in October 2018. For more information you may visit https://www.firststepcharity.com.

Port Saunders - The town of Port Saunders in partnership with local RCMP are in the process of opening a new Youth Center in the Port Saunders Town Center (old Roncalli High). To alleviate costs associated with getting this much-needed venture off the ground, they are looking for the support of surrounding communities in the form of material/financial donations as funding alone will not adequately cover all they would like to offer youth. Any material/financial donations will be graciously accepted. Thank you in advance for anything you may be able to assist with. Your support is greatly appreciated.
