Exploits Regional Chamber of Commerce hands out annual awards

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. —

The Exploits Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Business Excellence Awards were presented at the Royal Canadian Legion in Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday, Feb. 21.

This year’s Desmond Kenny Family Award winner was the Hurley family of Central Training Academy.

The award is presented to a family business in the Exploits region that reflects outstanding business achievement and dedication to the area.

The other winners were:

- Beltone Audiology and Hearing Clinic, Small Business of the Year Award

- Town of Buchans, Helping Hands Award

- Ambassador Award, Northcliffe Drama Club

- A & W, Customer Service Award

- Rock Solid Diesel, Business Growth Award

- Susan Carrigan, Business Woman of the Year Award

- Frank Howard, Personal Excellence Award

- Foodland, Business of the Year Award

Four businesses were also inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame for 2018.

They were Air Liquide Canada, Colonial Garage, Dew Enterprises and Red Indian Surveys.
