We were told that six people were shot throughout this morning and this will affect the lives of some young people. Unfortunately, we learn that many minors are also involved here. Now, we are at the intersection of North Johnson and St. Mary’s Avenue. It is in the Lower Ninth Ward. Now, NOPD officers are investigating that deadly shooting you mentioned. Six people have been affected so far. It’s still a very active scene here. Let me tell you what we know so far. The call came in just after 1230 this morning, with a total of six victims, two pronounced dead at the scene. So far, we know it’s a boy and a girl, both 19 years old. Four victims were taken to hospital with injuries. Now, two of the victims, aged 17 and 18, were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. EMS was on scene and transported two men to the hospital. Both the men are 18 years old. Now, I spoke to a resident who lives in the area. She pulled up a few minutes ago. She says you can see this blue house from the top. They’ve seen a lot of action in the area, some shootings and a lot of not-so-good activity. So she says she wants to see something done. But unfortunately, as of now, we know six victims and two have died. We are working to get you some more information about those four victims who were taken to the hospital.

The investigation emerged as families gathered for events the day after Christmas. Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s homicide unit are investigating the shooting deaths of a 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman. A 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old girl and two 18-year-old boys were also injured in the shooting. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victims’ identities and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
