2 dead, 7 injured, including police officer – NBC 6 South Florida

One person was killed and seven others, including a police officer, were injured in a shooting at CityPlace Doral, officials said.

According to Miami-Dade Police Information Officer Alvaro Zabaleta, an argument broke out at the Martini Bar at CityPlace Doral around 3:30 a.m. when a security guard intervened.

That's when the gunman took out a gun and shot dead the security forces, police said.

“There were cops all over there,” rideshare driver Rob Abner told NBC6. “I'm here a lot, so it's kind of worrying. It touches you personally.”

A video shared by Only In Date showed several police officers with lights and sirens on the scene.

A Doral city officer was shot in the lower extremity and taken to the hospital. He is said to be one of two Doral officers who fired their weapons.

The shooter was shot dead on the spot.

Video captured by NBC6 shows a Doral police car rushing to the emergency entrance. As the squad car pulls up other officers can be seen trying to get the injured officer out of the back seat of the vehicle.

The officer has since been released from the hospital.

New video shows a Doral officer injured in a shooting at CityPlace leaving the hospital.

Six bystanders were also shot. They include two females and four males.

A man and a woman have been hospitalized in a critical condition.

The video shows a medical helicopter arriving at the hospital early in the morning and carrying a man on a gurney.

A man was also seen pulling himself up in the back of the ambulance with his arm bandaged.

The shooting comes a year after Doral police conducted an active shooter drill to prepare their officers for this type of situation.
