St. Anthony skiers take home gold

Basia Krupski, 12, was a part of the St. Anthony contingent at the NL Winter Games. She participated as a member of the host Deer Lake team.

DEER LAKE, NL – Young skiers from St. Anthony’s Aurora Nordic Ski Club brought lots of hardware home from the Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games.

The club’s strong showing started with 17-year-old Angela Cronhelm, participating as a member of the Western team and winning the gold medal in the female King’s Court Sprints on March 11.

Angela and fellow St. Anthony skier Hilary Pilgrim, 15, were also members of the first-place Western team in the Female Team Relay.
Angela’s brother Alexander Cronhelm, 13, was a member of the bronze-medal host Deer Lake team in the Male Team Relay.
The races were held at the Pasadena Ski and Nature Park.
The winter games were held from March 10-18.

Angela Cronhelm received her gold medal from Premier Dwight Ball at the Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games. Angela finished first in the King’s Court Sprints on March 11.
