Age 12 too young for hunting

Dear Editor,

I strongly disagree with 12-year-old kids hunting together with shotguns. If this is approved, it will be a sad thing for many families on our coast. Someone will be accidentally shot. I have grandchildren and would not want them hunting with 12-year-olds. I had my first 12-gauge at 14 and was reminded time and time again how dangerous this gun can be. Morning after morning I saw 10 to 15 hunters with guns loaded waiting for ducks. I wouldn’t be a happy hunter if half of those were 12-year-olds. I go hunting two or three times a week and love it. If 12-year-old kids will be among us I would rather not be there. How about you? I love children but not with shotguns.
