Long Range Mountains MP Gudie Hutchings will be holding town hall meetings on the recreational food fishery in Port Saunders and St. Anthony on January 13th and January 16th.

Meetings will take place in Port Saunders and St. Anthony Friday and Monday, respectively.

Members of the public are invited to attend and share their thoughts on how the fishery should be managed for the upcoming season.

Hutchings will meet with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to share the ideas and concerns discussed at the meetings.

“I know that many people were frustrated with DFO’s proposal for a tag regime and that people felt they didn’t have a chance to provide input during the DFO consultations," said Hutchings. "I want to assure everyone that I have spoken with the Minister’s office and no decisions have been made yet.”

Meeting times:

Port Saunders Rec Centre
 — Friday, January 13, 2017
 from 3:00pm – 4:00pm

St. Anthony Lions Club —
Monday, January 16, 2017
