The provincial government is providing $245,000 for new equipment and upgrades at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre and $450,000 for the region of Springdale to assist with the purchase of new equipment and upgrades.

The Baie Verte money will assist with the purchase of equipment including new trolleys for the meal delivery system and resident handling equipment to assist staff in the safe handling and movement of residents.
The remaining funding will assist with upgrades to the hot water boiler system.
Of the Springdale money, the Valley Vista Seniors Home will receive $200,000 to assist with the replacement of boiler pipes at the facility and about $66,000 for new equipment including the purchase of wheelchairs, as well as food service equipment including an oven and food service trolleys.
