The Burin Peninsula is under a rainfall warning with snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain on Tuesday expected to transition to heavy rain. Environment Canada is forecasting rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 millimetres Tuesday night.

The Department of Transportation and Works issued its own advisory this afternoon.

It said snow removal and ice control equipment will be out this evening and into Tuesday morning. Equipment availability is currently at 93.3 per cent throughout the province, the advisory noted.
