NAMELESS COVE, N.L. — The Nameless Cove Local Service District (LSD) has completed the burial of a whale that had been beached there for some time.

The carcass was disposed of June 5. The LSD hired an excavator to dig a deep hole to bury the whale. The site was then covered with lime.

The burial was in accordance with proper disposal direction from Service NL.

“It has been buried to the satisfaction of the department, based on the information provided by the LSD,” said Service NL in a statement to the Northern Pen.
