SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The East Coast Music Awards gala Thursday night saw few multiple winners, but a diverse group of artists claiming honours.

Halifax's Ria Mae poses with her ECMA for solo recording of the year.

Nova Scotia artists won the lion’s share of the awards — Ria Mae, Old Man Leudecke, Classified, Like a Motorcycle, Ced Marty and Dave and Hillsburn took home a trophy apiece — but it was the New Brunswick group, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, that was the only multiple winner.
Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire won francophone recording of the year and group recording of the year during the ceremony at Harbour Station.
Chris Leudecke, a.k.a Old Man Leudecke, from Chester, N.S., took home album of the year for the Tim O’Brien-produced “Domestic Eccentric.”
Halifax alt-pop artist Ria Mae received the nod for solo recording of the year for her self-titled album.
Enfield, N.S., rapper Classified had the song of the year for his self-produced “No Pressure.”
Hillsburn’s video for “Run Down” earned the Halifax-based band and director Mat Barkley the fan’s choice video of the year.

Nova Scotia group Like A Motorcycle won the Rising Star recording of the year.

Prince Edward Island’s Lennie Gallant earned the Fans’ Choice entertainer of the year.

Another P.E.I. act, Tian Wigmore’s War Horse project, won indigenous recording of the year.

The country recording of the year went to Tristan Horncastle of Fredericton, N.B.

Moncton’s The Motorleague rounded out the winners with rock recording of the year.

Thursday night’s awards show was hosted by James Mullinger and included performances by  David Myles, Classified, Repartee, Jason Benoit, Ria Mae, Còig, Caroline Savoie, The Motorleague, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, Reeny Smith, Lisa LeBlanc, Paper Lions, Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys, Like A Motorcycle and Tomato/Tomato.
A handful of awards will be also handed out Friday and Saturday nights in Saint John as ECMA Music Week continues until Sunday.
