The Snowmobile Run for Janeway is a staple of Sandy Cove every winter, running 29 years strong.

Snowmobile riders lined up at the Lions Club to travel to Jack’s Woods for Sandy Cove’s 29th annual Snowmobile Run for the Janeway.

On the morning of March 18, local snowmobilers geared up and left from the Sandy Cove Lions Club, speeding to Jack’s Woods where they all stopped and gathered for a day of food, fun, and games.

Sterling White, Roland Coles and Don White enjoyed their breakfast prior to the snowmobile run. The three men have participated in the snowmobile run every year.

Meanwhile, donations poured in at the entrance of the Lions Club, which also hosted a breakfast. This year, club president Barry White estimates that they’ll have raised approximately $3,000 for the Janeway Children’s Hospital, though donations are still coming.

Minnie Coles, Ivy Coles, Evelyn Coles, Dulcie White and Jessie White were some of the women who helped serve breakfast that morning.

The event had 52 sponsors from various businesses throughout the Northern Peninsula who donated prizes for a draw in the afternoon.
