PORT AU CHOIX, NL – The second annual Mummers’ Walk took place in Port au Choix on Dec. 10.
Even though the weather did not cooperate, about 25 to 30 mummers braved the rain and walked from the Riff’s parking lot to the United Towns Lions Club. They were escorted by the Port au Choix Volunteer Fire Department and the RCMP.
Once at the Lions Club, the mummers enjoyed music, dancing and refreshments.
The Mummers’ Walk is a joint effort between the Port au Choix Firettes and the United Towns Lions Club with support from Sharon’s Village Mart.
As one of the mummers said, “the weather may be dreadful, but the mummers are delightful.”
The town was happy to see the event was a success again this year and hopes the weather will cooperate next year.
