Dear Editor,
I have a few opinions that I’d like to share. I’m by myself most of the time so I don’t get to talk a lot (don’t ask my husband though). I have been reading the Northern Pen, as I faithfully do every Monday, and I have seen a couple of items that I’d like to comment on. It must be something to do with the generation gap.
I was reading an article by a young writer regarding Facebook and I beg to differ. I think that Facebook is so much more for older people than for young as we’ve, more than likely, met a lot more people. On Facebook, we get to find out about people we haven’t seen for years. It’s great fun. I do agree that some people do get way too personal on there and enjoy airing their dirty laundry. I keep my dirty laundry well hidden.
Hence I can say that I think I turned out all right. I was reading an article, also, about all the grade schools. I graduated from such a school and I don’t remember any great negative effect it had on me or my peers. I didn’t get television until I’d almost finished school — go figure.
Another thing that has nothing to do with what has gone before — is health minister Jerome Kennedy royalty? Is he Queen Victoria reincarnated? He must be very important because I have heard him say on more than one occasion that St Anthony will not get the air ambulance back.
Now if he said he couldn’t see it happening in the near future or he didn’t THINK it would happen, I could understand that. But he speaks as though it’s quite up to him and he’s having none of it.
What’s your take?
Sincerely,
Roberta Stevens
St Anthony
