Dear Editor,
It’s so sad now that the Croque Come Home Year is all over.
Our homestead is lonely and quiet now and we miss the children and grandchildren so much.
Our community was alive with everyone doing their own thing but also taking the time to take part in the celebrations.
A great time was had by everyone and that’s what it’s all about — making sure everyone who came home had a good time.
Everyone is saying the same thing — how lonely it is since the crowd is gone.
The children who have left to go back to work feel the loneliness also, they miss their families and are wishing they could do it again or wishing it was just the beginning.
I know it takes a lot of planning, hard work and stress but for me, all the hard work was worth it.
I guarantee you we will do it again, God willing, a few years down the road.
Thank you to all who came home — we already miss you. And wherever you may be, always remember Croque is your home town.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Kearney
