• March 1 - Take part in a free information session to learn about Business Beginnings, a free 8-week program from the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) that begins this March in Corner Brook. Business Beginnings will help you learn all you need to know to create a successful business plan and start your own business. The information session takes place on March 1 from 12-1 p.m. at the NLOWE office at 93 West Street, Corner Brook. • March 3 - Are you a woman thinking of starting a business? Are you already involved in a business but looking to expand? Join the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) for two free online information sessions. The start-up session, from 9-9:30 a.m. looks at what there is to consider before starting a business. The growth session, from 9:30-10 a.m., will help you set a vision for growth and examine logistical and financial steps. Pre-registration is required. Visit www.nlowe.org or call 1.888.NLOWE.11.
• March 4 - Join the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) for Part I of a free online series focused on marketing. "Success Marketing = Successful Business" will take place on March 4 from 9-10 a.m. You'll learn why the Four P's of Marketing are essential considerations in any marketing strategy and leave with the tools you need to develop a successful marketing process that identifies and reaches your target markets. • March 4 - The Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council will hold a Public Information Session in St. Anthony on arts funding opportunities, Thursday, March 4, from 7-9 p.m. at the Grenfell Heritage Hotel and Suites (in the Conference Room) 1 McChada Drive, St. Anthony. Learn about arts funding programs for individual artists, groups, not-for-profit arts organizations, not-for-profit arts festivals, community arts groups, and schools.
• March 10 - The St. Anthony and Area Kinette Club will be holding a Pork Chop/Salad Takeout Supper in support of Multiple Sclerosis. Plates are $7 each and must be pre- ordered by March 2, by contacting any Kinette member, Jennifer McGrath 454-3756 or Roxanne Simms 454-8553. Suppers will be ready for pickup March 10 between 4 and 6 p.m. at the St. Anthony Lions Club. Thanks for your support.
• March 11-15 - Flowers Cove will be holding their Winter Carnival on Thursday, March 11 to Monday, March 15. To volunteer or get information call Bertha at 456-2057 or Sandra at 456-2102. Come out and enjoy the events!
• March 20 - Tentatively the 22nd Annual Janeway Snowmobile Ride is scheduled for Saturday March 20. The ride starts at Sandy Cove Lions Club. All details will be finalized and advertised shortly. Thank you to all previous supporters and look forward to seeing everyone again this year.
• April 5 - The St. Thomas Sandy Cove Anglican Church Women will be hosting the Ladies Dart Tournament on Easter Monday, April 5. All details will be posted around the communities in the weeks to come.
• Tuesdays - Craft Night continues at the Grenfell Interpretation Centre on Tuesday nights. All are welcome to come along between 7-9 p.m. Bring along your favourite project and socialize with other crafts people as you work on your craft and share ideas. If you would like further information call 454-4010.
• Literacy Newfoundland and Labrador - Do you have difficulty reading? Are you looking for a tutoring service or a family learning program? Would you like more information on completing adult basic education or high school equivalency? Literacy Newfoundland and Labrador has information on local programs operating across the province. • The Canadian Cancer Society needs your help. As March approaches, so does Daffodil Days. We need some great volunteers to help us sell fresh Daffodils. You can help provide support to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador by helping to sell Daffodils. We need individuals and community groups to get involved with bringing these flowers of hope to our province.
