Grenfell Heritage Day celebrations are set for Tuesday, July 14.

The annual event, organized by the Grenfell Foundation, will be held from 7:30 a.m. till midnight.

Heritage Day at St. Anthony celebrates the life and work of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell and his devotion to improving the lives of residents in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador.

Grenfell Heritage Day provides an opportunity for families and friends to come together to celebrate the Grenfell Legacy and the Newfoundland and Labrador culture. It also provides the Grenfell Foundation and the Labrador-Grenfell Health staff with an opportunity to show their appreciation to the communities they serve.

The day will begin with a breakfast at the St. Anthony Lions Club, followed by a Teddy Bear Picnic in the afternoon. Later in the evening, the events will continue at Grenfell Park, with traditional musical performances, face painting, ticket sales, a Newfie Mug-Up (homemade bread and molasses and roasted capelin) and the Curtis Hospital Auxiliary craft and bake sale.

The foundation extends a welcome to everyone, including tourists in the area, to come and enjoy the Newfoundland music and friendly hospitality.
