Vivian Applin

St. Barbe

March 6, 1944 – Aug. 29, 2010

 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vivian Applin announce her passing on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at her home in St. Barbe at the age of 66 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories a special friend Jacob Toope; children Craig (Janice), Virginia (Doug), Marina (Walt), Michelle (Chad), and Sherry Lynn (Jeff); eight grandchildren Ross, Jeremy (Connie), Kelcie (Brady), Jodi, Javan, Rianna, Victoria and Matthew and a large circle of other family and friends. Vivian is predeceased by her husband Ross Applin. Friends and family visited the Edgar Applin Sr. Memorial United Church in Pigeon Cove on Sunday evening and Monday. The funeral was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove on Tuesday, Aug 31 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton. Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Aug. 29, 2010, Jack Hancock Pelley in his 70th year. Leaving  to mourn with fond and loving memories are his stepmother Beatrice Pelley; three brothers Wade (Catherine), Craig (Ruby), and stepbrother John (Netta); also two sisters Kimberly (Neil), and Mavis Pollard. Jack also leaves behind nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Cecil Pelley. The family received friends at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kris Gosse officiating, followed by interment at the Anglican Cemetery in Main Brook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director

Florence Janet Chubbs (nee poole)

St. Lewis

Sept. 15, 1930 -Aug. 30, 2010

 

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, in St. Anthony on Aug. 30, 2010, after a two year battle with cancer Florence Janet Chubbs. She is predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Emma, and brothers Earl, Nelson and Lewellyn. Leaving to mourn her husband of 49 years, Graham; son Brian (Karen); daughter Sheila Cooper (Wade); grandchildren Shawna, Ryan, Amanda, and Tony; sisters Ethel Rumbolt (Wilfred), and Shirley Penney; brothers Tom, Will (Lydia), Paul, and Norman (Jean); brothers-in-law Cyril (Elsie) and Warrick (Elaine), also her many neices and nephews, great-neices and nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends. She will always be remembered and forever missed. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WILBOURN F. FILLIER

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilbourn Fillier announce his passing on Sept. 1, 2010 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 58 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Rosemary; daughters Cassandra (Ivan), and Heather (Trevor); parents Ross and Mary; sisters Audrey (Joe), Donna (Stan), Linda (Rayfield), and Gertie (Chris); grandchildren Madison and Donovan, and best friend Bear, as well as nine nephews and 11 nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Scott and sister Bonnie and great-grandmother Lavinia. Following cremation, family, friends and loved ones were received at the funeral home, from where the service was held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 with Major Janes officiating. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melissa Pye announce her passing at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Sept 4, 2010 at the age of 25 years.  Leaving to mourn with loving memories are parents Freeman and Stella Pye; sister Pamela (Wade); grandmothers Nellie Yetman and Doris Pye, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Eff Yetman and Ira Pye. Visitors were received at the Our Lady Of Labrador Church in West St. Modeste on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday Sept 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Gagnon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L’Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Lavers announce her passing on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 61 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Melvin, children Tammy (Darrell) Coombs, Scott (Wanda), and Melvin Jr. (Kristy-Lee) of Port Saunders; grandchildren Kaylie, Chelsea, Jordan, Jessica, Adrianne, Kimberly, Timothy, and Jayden; mother Mary Samson; sisters Vera, Eunice, Regina, and Effie; brothers Lloyd, James, Jerry, Morris, and Dion, and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father James Samson, grandson Vachon, and brother Philip. The family received friends at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey and Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix
